Noticed a clicking noise after drop spindle install (4wd)

Default Noticed a clicking noise after drop spindle install (4wd)

I installed a set of drop spindles (ground force) and I now notice a clicking noise when I'm driving. It sounds like a bolt or stone in the tire but I've checked and there is nothing stuck in the tire.
To be honest I'm not sure if the sound was there before I lowered it but I'm leaning toward the drop spindles changing the CV angles caused the noise.
I hope not cause I love the look ad would hate to take them off.

The only other thing I can think of is that the Clad Chrome wheel are making the noise. I read on the internet is sometime happens with Clad rims??

I would go through and tighten everything and if it's still these it's probably a bad ball joint.

cv angles won't be an issue.
I have the same setup on a 4x4.
Did you do any other lowering stuff or just 2" spindles.
it is likely the dust sheild touching the rotor, easy to disturb when installing the spindles.

did you change the wheel bearings when you did the swap? I always do when I do a drop on one of these trucks,this could be your problem.

Subscribing cause I have the same kit on order. Good advice in this thread though on possible causes.

the wheel bearings are part of the hub and that just unbolts out so i wouldnt think it would be a problem that just occured. in that sense maybe the axle isnt tight.. other then that id check dust shield as well. also on these kits do you have to cut the lower ball joint to clear the wheels like the mcg kit

only if you run a wheel smaller than 20" which it looks like he has in the avatar but its hard to tell.

I had these spindles on my truck and never had a problem. I have also installed over 10 sets of these on NNBS with no issues so my guess is its an install issue not a MFG issue.

A week or two after the spindles I did Belltech lowering shocks (2")

But the sound was there after the spindle install.

When doing the shocks it did re-torque all the bolts, everything was tight..

hmmmm....

If the noise was there before you changed the shocks it should not be a bad cv joint.
A bad joint will make a fairly solid knock/knock/knock as the wheel rotates but mostly only when turning, it would need to be thrashed to make a noise wheel driving straight
the noise will change depending on if you are steering right or left as well.

If it's a rotational noise it is something that is turning with the wheel, rotor, wheel bearing, axle. something is alittle out of place and touching, again check that the dustsheild is not touching the rotor.
something may have fallen in behind the rotor as well
Does it go with road speed or engine speed.

Normally there isn't much chance of damaging stuff on a spindle install.

If you can't fiqure it out, find a front end/brake shop, most of them do free estimates.
I think the shorter shocks will change the cv angles even further at you may be at or near the limit.

I have all bell tech spindle lower struts 46000 miles no axle problems or noises you have a backing plate hitting a bolt on your hub
