Ordering a magnaflow 12909 for 6.2?
After a year of headers and no cats my muffler has developed a bad rattle.
I've researched that the 12909 is a good muffler with a 3.5 in and 3.5 out to match my stock piping. But I've have also seen some post where they say the off set doesn't quite match up. Anyone have any experience with this.
Or know of another muffler that would be a good replacement.
P.S.
I don't want a new cat back system my set up now with no cats and stock 3.5" pipes flows enough.

If I recall, Tony from TBSS said that you need a short piece of pipe from the resonator to make it fit. I haven't done mine yet to know for sure, but Tony is pretty spot on with everything.

The magnaflow 12909 fits in there w/o the need for any extra pipe. I had 1 on my truck. Just cut the stock muffler off and the magnaflow fits w/ the piping thats there. Its just going to sit at a slight angle due to not being the right offset. I just pulled mine off and put the stock muffler back on. Just did lt's, ory & had the magnaflow 12909 dumped over the axle w/ the resonator & tail pipe cut off. It sounded great but was a lil loud for me so I put the stock muffler back on. Probably going to go back to the magnaflow though and do a small straight through muffler as a resonator because it was a noticeable power loss going from the magnaflow to stock muffler believe it or not.
So yea the 12909 fits no problem.

Great that's just what I needed to hear. With 1-7/8" Lt's, no cat's on the stock muffler and no resonator right now. I wish it was louder, I'm used to my wife's SRT8 charger with true dual flowmaster 40 series mufflers. That's a lot louder than my truck is now.

I have it on my denali. Fit no problem just a little sideways. Was wanting mine a little louder so I was thinking about cutting my resonator off too. Did y'all just cut it off right where it comes behind the axle and leave the factory pipe or new pipe turned down. I have arh lts with catted y pipe. Same muffler
