What did you do about the plastic handle?


Thats what I want to know lol. I'm going to be redoing mine so I can make them smoother and protect them better this time.

I did the same method except sanded more. lol

This picture is from before I finished riveting the bumpet caps back on. I drilled out the factory rivets to remove the caps for paint. Also had the backup sensors painted. They were going crazy at first, but now they work fine. I guess the computer got adjusted to them.

How did you smoke the tail lights? I was thinking about replacing mine with the GMC lamps.

Sanding the handle bezel smooth is a bitch when you dont have an electric sander.
you dont have to sand it smooth......... you spray it with primer surfacer... it will fill in all the lil pores, then you sand the primer to a smooth finish

i guess im used to the old way of doing plastic work. I believe my painter finished it off by smoothing it with the stuff you guys were talking about.

as for cost, I paid $450 cash to have the tonneau, bumper caps, sensors (taken apart and each piece painted individually), and new factory GM camera tailgate handle bezel for my Boyo rearview cam. I did not paint the actual handle, figured it would get scratched too much.
