Default Question(s) About Stock Gauges

I have a 07 RCSB W/T model. I noticed awhile back that I dont have >THESE< gauges

Are there any options here or am I pretty much stuck with it? Looks kinda dumb having a spot for gauges with nothing in them

Also on my DIC switch, it looks like the previous owner cut into the dash to put this switch in? If I wasnt at work I would snap a pic of it. Do W/T models come factory with this switch? If it came from the factory WITH the switch, why would they need to cut the dash? If it didnt come factory, why not order this GM Parts Direct: 19159438 - DIC Switch Package ? As far as I know everything in the DIC is working correctly. I want to order a new one from the link above, but Id like to figure out why mine is the way it is now.

Probably bc he was too cheap to order the whole thing. Sometimes going cheap with things isnt always the best idea. All you need to do is order the vent panel for the DIC, pop it out, pop the new one in after swapping the parts over.

As for the gauge cluster, i THINK you can upgrade to the full gauge cluster and just have it reprogrammed for your truck with the correct mileage. I could be wrong because i never fooled with it. Maybe someone else can take that question on

Yea, your probably right. I had plans on this being a project truck all along. So I didnt let that detour me from buying the truck. Ill have more in this truck than I bought it for in a couple years lol Gotta pay to play....and look good

I have an 08 WT. I swapped the left panel with the DIC and the entire dash out of my buddies 2011 lt that was getting repo'd. all of the wiring was in there from the factory. will need to get it reprogrammed though. I haven't and my oil life monitor doesn't work. but other than that it is plug n play!

You can put a cluster in from a truck with the battery and oil pressure guages in. Your truck has the wiring for it. Also grab the cluster bezel...it clips and screws directly into place.

Most likely the previous owner found a DIC switch and installed it in. Every GMT900 platform is prewired and the trim piece is designed so you can cut it out if. I did it with mine...took my time cutting and it looks as good as factory.
