Who says 55W's are too bright?!? LOL! Even this pic makes me need

 

I don't understand why i have to turn on my lights before i start my truck at night.
If i don't my DS light doesn't come on. I have swapped lights/balasts around with same results. Any ideas???

 

McCulloch and VisionPRO HID Kits, Parts & Upgrades.
McCulloch hid kit. Only thing is the bulbs have to be replaced every few years. I have had these for 6 years and on my 3rd set of bulbs with them. Never had a ballast fail or fail to ignite the bulb unless the bulb was bad. You get what you pay for, don't expect a 35 dollar ebay kit to hold up....... they are disposable. I bought a cheap kit off ebay just for the bulbs one time haha! I have a spare ballast now just incase one day mine decides to stop working!

 

I would say that they work like crap if the drivers side always didnt come on........... Everyone just needs to start rocking Kryptonbulbs HIDs. All the problems just disappear.

 

It's the DRL's thats giving me problems. I pulled two fuses under the hood but they still come on.

Has anyone ran into this problem? How have you disabled the DRL's?

 

i was going to say that it's the DRL's doing b/c of the intial start up and load draw that's making things go nuts... you've figured that out already tho... This problem was occurring on my Lexus too, and in the fuse box was a metal bar about 2" long that fits in line with the lighting circuitry, that when removed disables the DRL's. This was the case on my Lexus, so can't be sure it works on your Sierra, but the technology has to be similar. Look for something like I'm describing in the fuse panel.

 

I pulled one DRL fuse on my sisters 07 and they don't come on anymore.

 

I've never had any problem with DDM there **** is awesome I've seen kits that cost 200$ get bulbs replaced more than i have the DDM's. And on the light not coming on, on you're driveside thats a common problem with any HID install not sure why it happens. Ive seen that on plenty of vehicles froms honda's,avalanches,camaro's, rams, v-dubs. not sure its just a common problem that comes with them as far as i know.

 

hey brutal, i have ran into the exact same problem. my drl's have been disconnect. the only thing i took out was my 2 fuses. dealing with the drivers side hid not kicking on every time, i talked with ddm, and they said it was the auto lights. for some odd reason, they have this problem and they don't know why or can't find an answer either. i have found out that when you start your truck and turn the key into the II position and hold it there for a second, the lights kick on, then i turn the key to start the truck on, they kick on every time. as mentioned before, the drivers hid doesn't kick on every time, but to make sure they always kick on, i do this little trick

 

Cool,! Well after reading the instructions on their website( what are instructions???) it states the 55w ballasts need the harness to the battery for the initial draw. So I ordered the $15 kit that's $27 to my door... I'll update when I get it installed!

Man, how did I ever manage life without HID's???
