What components are you going to use?

I haven't decided on brands yet. I will be doing 2" spindles and a flip kit to achieve it though.

Lowereing is completed. I used Summit spindles, which are actually Ground Force, Bell Tech adjustable struts and DJM Flip Kit. The front when smoothly. The spindles are top noch quality. I set the struts at 1" drop, so I'm 3" in the front 5" in the rear. The DJM 4-5" flip kit is also great quality, but the instructions suck. I was able to manipulate the diff without having to touch the front leaf spring bolts. I used a torch to cut the rivet heads off and an air chisel with a punch bit to push the rivets through. Removing the hitch and spare tire makes things easier. I used a 4 1/2" grinder with a thin cutting disk to roughly remove the factory bumpstops and the a thicker disc to grind away what was left over. I finished with a flap disk and some under coat.

I had two snags. The rear shocks I received were for a 7" drop and were too short. I went to Canadian Tire and asked them for the Monroe part number for my truck. I then used the Monroe online shock chart to find my stock shocks. This gave me the code for the mounting ends. I searched through there truck line for the same mounting ends but for the length I need. 14" compresed 23" extended. I gave that number to Canandian Tire and they sold me the Monroe Sensatrac shocks. In case this ever happens to anyone, they told me the application is 2000 Tahoe.

The other snag is the Slam Air kit I bought. The instructions say it should work, but the bags are really short and only have 7" of travel. My truck has about 12" of travel. Even if I made my own mounts to make it fit, the bags would rip apart if the diff was alowed to fully extend. I will contact McGuaulys and see if there 7" flip kit helper bag kit will work with my 5" drop.
