might be cheaper to pick up a nice low miles 9.5" sf axle out of a Vmax ss truck and bolt it in. I don't know anyone who's toasted the 9.5" G80.

No G80/86 will perform as well as the Trutrac. The G80 is made for low speed situations.

I've had great luck with my G80 in my 8.6 rear. I don't drag race, just running 33.5" tires and off road weekly. It works great in 99.9% of off road situations. I don't see where he said anything about racing, just burn outs and mudding.

You are absolutely correct. The G80 is great for low speed, off-road situations. Since we are on a performance site, I assumed we were discussing performance needs.

Yes performance needs, Offroading and mudding are a lil diff, offroading puts stress yes but 95% is low speeds, mudding on the other hand you might not be moving very fast but you could be going 50-60 easy moving a few inches at a time. More mudding than anything. If i sink the truck to the top of the wheels i wanna know that the posi isn't gonna give out on me while im trying to get out. Its just something about a lifted truck on mud tires taking off and outrunning stuff on the street as well lol
