Default reluctor wheel

How hard is it to change one? I have a 408 that was built to go in my 05 but now have a 2012that I'm wanting to put it in. Lingenefelter has a box to go from 58 to 24 but not the other way around. I spoke with them and they said they had on in the making but not ready yet. Guess my question is should I just wait for them or just change the wheel. And other then a knock sensor extension is their anything else I'll have to do to make this work.

The crank has to be completely removed in order to change the wheel. You will also need a tool like the one Goodson sells. You will need to use a little heat to remove the old ring and install the new ring. You should check it for run out before installing back into the engine to make sure its on straight. A New reluctor ring can be had through any GM dealer. They run around $30

Goodson tool is RRJ-350
