Default Road noise?!

The other day on the highway I noticed a winding noise. Today while driving I still hear the same winding noise. I'm thinking it might b from the tires. I have the 08 gmc 20" stock rims. When I bought this truck from the dealer last month, I'm pretty sure they put new tires on, hankook ventus AS. The winding noise gets louter when I'm at faster speeds. If not from the tires, is there another reason for the winding noise???

I just took my truck to a local tire shop and they said the tires were fine, they told me it was in my rear end. They said the fluid level was good, but could possibly burning up fluid?! What does that mean? Plus, I bought my truck in ark and live in mo. First off, if it is a rear end problem, would this b covered in the powertrain warranty, and second, should my MO dealer cover this?

That might be a pinion bearing in the rear diff going out. Most powertrain warranties would cover something like that.

If it's a bearing noise it will be covered under warranty. Take it to the dealer and get them to give it a look over.

Probably because the tires are new.. do a few burnouts, and rotate them, then do a few more burnouts.. add some artificial wear to them and see if they get quiet..

Oh and take a few videos too.. could be next 1000000 hit on youtube..

Worst case scenario you do some sweet *** smoke making, and maybe fix your noisy tire thing too..

Ive seen lots of trucks with wind/tire noise coming from back of cab. Caused by the insulator behind the rear seat. 2010 I think they put a thinner one in. They have an updated one to replace with now. But Ive doubled them up and has fixed the noise.

Ok, got the truck fixed today. They said it was a pinion bearing scored causing noise and also both rear axle shaft seals were leaking during the pinion bearing. Fixed= differential drive pinion gear bearing
