Default SERVICE STABILATRACK and Service Traction Control

Hello,

My wife just came home with our 07 Suburban (74K) and said the check engine light was illuminated. I went out there to check it out and the message center read "service traction control" and Service stabilitrack" I was concerned since if it was a brake control module issue wouldn't the ABS light be illuminated?

Not sure where to start on this, could this be a bad brake control module EBCM or throttle body?

Anyone have this issue?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Can you read the code ?

It could be a wheel speed sensor going bad , the sensor is used also by the ABS system as well as for traction control .

I bet it's fine to drive if nothing's leaking , squealing or grinding till you can get it looked at .

Corrosion likes to mess with wheel speed sensors and set codes.

One other thing , there was a recall on the TPS sensor on the throttle body that could be your issue , we need a code to tell . Was is idleing wierd or surgeing while driving and coming to a stop ?

unfortunately all my diagnostic tools are outdated to read our Suburban's codes..

I will take it up to one of the autoparts stores tomorrow and see if they have the appropriate hardware to pull a code.

I have noticed a vibration when under braking and knew I needed to change the front rotors and front pads this weekend.. I'm wondering if this could contribute to the code?

Doubtful as the check engine light is illuminated, any thoughts?

Hmmm , brain is fried from work and kids lol.

Yeah just go to autozone or similar and have them read your codes , let us know so we can try to help

Is the vibration from warped rotors or is the pedal itself pulsating from the abs system ?

I'm pretty sure one or both of the front rotors is warped.

Definitely know the feeling of work and kids! Thanks the direction!

I'll repost tomorrow.

In these newer vehicles, occasionally 1 system will effect the other.

Start with the check engine light. It may be causing your stabilitrac light to come on.
