Its an eBay billet insert. I think I got the main and lower for about 100 bucks shipped. I knew I would be cutting them up, so I didnt want to spend too much if I made a mistake.

How did you remove the stock grill to put in the insert? I am interested in doing something similar with my 4 bar grill in the future, just need to figure out how to remove it so it doesnt have the typical insert over grill look that i see so much in MN.

I cut out the entire insert, and was only left with the U shaped shell. Then just sanded down the points where it mounted to the shell, had it painted, and went from there.

I was wondering if it just came apart or if you actually cut it apart. Sounds like you cut it up to get it to what you have now. Was the u shaped outer part of the grill chrome before you painted, so you painted it black to match the truck?
