I think youll have trouble finding a crew cab 6.2 especially because you want a 2wd. Dont be completely closed to the idea of getting a 4wd and youll open up your options alot lot more

Crew cab? If so, 27k is a helluva good deal.

Yea it is a crew cab. They were offering like 11.5k worth of rebates at the time. Plus they threw in the GM rollup bed cover that was on it!

That's a badass deal right there.

Based on the last 2 new trucks I've bought (an 09' ext cab and a 11' crew cab) I will never buy a 1 or 2 yr old used truck.

My 2009 Ext cab was the LT package with the 5.3/4x4, I purchased it in May of 2010 as a left over. Sticker on this truck was $34,500 and I got it for $26,000 out the door after 6% sales tax, title and plate.

My 11' was a Z71 crew cab, appearance package, 5.3/4x4, purchased it in December of 2011 as a left over. Sticker was $42,500 and I got it for $31,600 out the door same thing.

Both of those were no money down whatsoever and I only had trade-ins that the dealer paid off at KBB price.

My 09' sold privately, but my 11' I traded in locally on my Cruze. I went back up the next day to look and see how much they had my 11' listed for with 6,500 miles on it... had a sticker on it that said "Was $35,xxx, Now $33,xxx"... ******* $1,500 more than I paid for it brand new!!!

There are so many ways to get big dollars off of the crew/ext cabs... you just have to know when to buy and what to have.

-Being on GMs manifest list, based on your zip code, gets your $1k
-Credit union gets you preferred pricing, on a crew cab that's roughly $2k~
-USAA membership gets you $750, it's just as simple as signing up.
-And if you can find what you're looking for in the spring you're probably looking at some $5k-$6k rebates or bonus cash.

Well I am in the AF so I know I will get the USAA deal as I always do, and the 6.2 truck that I drove was 4wd and was getting around 18mpg which is more than I get on the Tundra, those Tundra's are really tough but I think the 6.2 truck would be better suited for me.

I came from a 4x4 tundra into a 4x4 silverado 6.2 about 14 months ago. The tundra engine is obviously no slouch, but the aftermarket for them sucks. The gearing and transmission in the tundra are it's strong points while the engine and modability are the silverados strong points. I still think the tundra is faster off the line due to its 4.30 gearing, but not very many tundra drivers have the ***** to launch in 4 high on the street like me. I got slightly better mpg overall (0.5 mpg) in my tundra compared to the silverado due to the fact that the 6.2 gets horrible mileage in town, but very slightly beats the tundra on the highway. I was generally disappointed in the performance of my 6.2 when stock, but a tune and a UDP really woke it up. Keep in mind that the 6.2 needs higher octane fuel. I personally think that a 4x4 would be a much better choice so you can launch well on the street.

There is my .02

I got the LT, wished I got the LTZ with upgraded interior. Just a Diablosport "Lew-tune" and Airaid MIT/K&N made big difference in throttle response and power. Also lightly modded the exterior, overall very happy with looks and performance.

I love mine it's a 2011 nht SLT sierra 4x4. The truck flew in stock form and only mods I've done are a 3/5 drop volant intake and a really nice custom tune and nuked all the torque management and really tweaked a ton of stuff on the tranny. On the highway I see 17-19.5 sometimes 20 on long trips driving sanely. I have noticed fuel quality accounts for a lot of up and down in gas mileage overall.

5.3 is a turd and will not get the mileage every salesman tells you it will and not enough power to pull a greasy string out of a frogs ***. You wont be disappointed with a 6.2
