I'm not sure it is that easy. Here are a couple of pics, One is from slp of a denali/escalade and the second is of underneath my truck:

I just cut the pipe off right above the resonator on my truck. I wish someone would try this tip/tailpipe out so I can know for sure before I spend the money on it lol

I hope that mine isn't too short. I cut it right up against the weld and got a little crooked and cut about an inch away from the weld on the side that was away from me when i was under the truck(don't drink and use a sawzall lol) .
Here is a pic of the resonator. Let me know what you think:

I emailed SLP and asked them specifically if this part will fit our 6.2 trucks fwiw, and he replied:
Part # 31096 will not fit your vehicle as it has a different shape to it.
Regards,
joey
Still think with some cutting up it will fit.

I took it to a local muffler shop cut off where u did and got a 3" long pipe expanded to 3 1/2" and welded the tailpipe from the kit then welded the tip idk if I'm just crazy but I don't like the bolted thing incase someone would try to steal it I use to have a camaro with Borla and if u know how it's setup they stole my cutout tip that's on the right side lol but it will work after a month I had it put in front of my tire I'll try to post a pic of both setups
