So whats the deal with these "Cammed Tunes"
So i noticed that John Lund is doing these "cammed tunes" with the new Mustang 5.0, Apparently it has to do with increasing the duration in the tune via the cam phasers. Since the 6.2L's have VVT also I wonder if something like this can be done as well, that would be cool just for the "Sound". What do yall think ?

I know nothing about these "cammed tunes" or 5.0s but based on my understanding of DOHC and VVT they wouldn't be able to adjust duration but rather lobe seperation. With two cams you can increase or decrease the LSA on the fly instead of beings stuck with one measurement like we are. Our current VVT motors only have one cam and therefore can't do this because the intake lobes and exhaust lobes are always in the same place in relation to each other.

I know this does nothing from a performance stand point, but i still think its pretty kool you can do that just with a tune without turning a wrench. It poser worthy i'll give you that, but why do people put mufflers on there vehicles, for sound.
I just think its an aspect that could be explored for the tuners out there, maybe Wheatley will chime in on this to shed some light.

I wont hate on the mod motor guys for tweeking their the cam phasing at idle for a cool sound so long as it doesn't have any negative effect on power or perfomance. If I was getting a tune and the tech offered a choppy idle AND all the same power gains through the rest of the rpm band I'd probly bite.
