Default So who's going to be the first to Hydroboost a NNBS?

I have looked around and searched several forums but can't find anyone who has actually done the swap. I've been looking at the 2500 P/S system vs the 1500 and I think I have a fairly complete parts list. I will share this list and maybe somebody interested in being the guinea pig will stumble across it.

Booster# 20940395
P/S Pump# 20756715 (has an extra return port)
P/S Hose# 15295853 (pump to booster)
P/S Hose# 15804952 (booster return to pump)
P/S Hose# 15295840 (booster to gear)
Pedal# 15906961 (non adjustable)
Pedal Bracket# 25863990 (may not need it but its a different part# than the vacuum trucks)

The only obvious modification will be to # 15295840. The lower end would need to be cut off and changed to the rack & pinion type inlet connection. Also I have no idea the repercussions of removing the vacuum booster pressure switch. Maybe a light on the dash, maybe loss of tow/haul down shifts, maybe nothing. I know I'm not the only person who wants to see this done so I thought I'd throw this out in an attempt to spur action by somebody with the time and money.

I'm in the same situation he is. No one else has done it and I'm not going to the the first. This is my daily driver and I can't afford for something to go wrong and the truck be down. I REALLY do need this though. Before the cam I could stall up to 3600 on the footbrake. Now, I'm lucky to get 2500. I've been resorting to the SyTy shuffle to even build enough vac to hit 3000 and I've added RPM and timing to idle to get it up to 2500 without doing the shuffle. I really need to launch at 3200+ in 4x4.

The only problem that I see is that the E38 ECM on our trucks likes to see a vacuum reference from a sensor mounted on the brake booster. It is mounted at the bottom of the booster on the driver side. I'm not exactly sure why this was done or what the effects would be, but I'm sure its absence would throw a code. You would have to talk to a tuner and see if they had the ability to remove the DTC from the ECM. Just a thought.

I never did the hydroboost swap. Didn't have too big of a problem with braking after a boosted run. And footbraking at the track was able to build more boost on the launch than my 2wd setup could handle anyway. New build will likely benefit from hydroboost cause of the 4wd, but it isn't nnbs.
