Default Steering wheel noise really odd...

Truck is an 08' Silverado and just a couple of weeks ago it started making an odd noise right behind the steering wheel.
Only does it when it's up to full temp. It kind of sounds like a DJ scratching records (quietly)
I popped the top cover behind the steering wheel off and tried to lube what ever I could (didnt help)
Sucked out the PS fluid and replaced with new (didn't help)
So what next
Is something going out, I have a extended warranty but with a $100 deductable
I took a couple of videos tonight when I got home, one with the truck on
And one with the truck off
It does it both times but the wheel is just harder to turn with the truck off

I'll get those up in a minute

I'd like to fix it because it's really annoying
Thanks

-mike

It sounds like the SIR coil, aka clock spring. Ask the dealer service manager to listen to it with you, and mention your warranty. It should get taken care of.

My 08 does it sometimes. My steering feels like it has dead spots sometimes in the power.

replace the clockspring the noise will go away and you will be fine. It's not the rack.
