Default Steering wheel trim removal.

I copied this info from another member of another forum who deserves his credit for the write up. I used this info myself and was really helpful.

So for those who are curious and interested...

Tools Required:

1) Straight Pick
2) T30 Torx Bit
3) T15 Torx Bit

First start by inserting the straight pick or equivalent through holes on side of steering wheel on both left and right sides to release Air Bag from Steering wheel.

You will then be able to bring the Air Bag down to gain access to Air Bag connections.

Using Straight Pick or equivalent gently/carefully pry up on CPA (Connector Position Assurance) on back of Air Bag Electrical connection.

Now the Air Bag is out of the way disconnect the electrical connector for the horn on the horn switch plate on the right hand side near the middle.

Now using the T30 Torx Bit remove the 4 bolts holding the horn plate to the Steering Wheel.

Now that the horn plate is out of the way you can access the 4 T15 Torx Bolts/Screws on the Steering wheel trim, remove all 4 in order to remove trim pieces seperatly.

Now gently lift up on the indide of the trim piece to remove it from the steering wheel. If you have Steering wheel controls they are attached to these trim pieces, there are 2 more T15 Bolts/Screws holding these controls to the Trim Pieces.

And your all done, re-install in reverse order obviously.

Hope this works for you guys, if you have any questions shoot me a PM.

I had my trim replaced under warranty because it was peeling. No wonder it took the tech 3 hours. I figured it just popped on and off like most trim.
