Default T-56 on nnbs?????

Has anybody think about this? Too much hassle? I wanna turn up the boost but don't wanna try to max out the 6L80E limits hahaha an 80 swap seems to be hard from what I've been told, so what about a 6spd manual? just an idea

Stock 6l80e is definitely not going to hold up! But the money you would spend doing the swap you could have built the 6l80e to hold 1200hp from PATC! That's what I'm doing.

PATC said it would only see 800 before it take a dump they rated them at 1200 for cars when Stock ones hold 900 to a 1000 think I'll pass

Where did you find a t-56 that will take any more abuse than a stock 80? And to answer your question, yes it will be a pain in the *** to swap but not any more difficult than a 4l80.

One board member here did a t56 swap iirc. It is a stout trans and with Viper shaft upgrade id have to think t56>6l80 but I dont have any experience pushing 6L80 so take that with a grain o salt

those 6l80es are junk and shift different every time. I wouldnt build one. Stock 4l80e with a shift kit is a killer setup and is cheap.

I pulled my 4l80e from the junkyard (95 van). Raced it in my pickup (4700lbs) and beat the **** out of it. Went 10.8x with that trans, just a shift kit and circle d.

Now the same transmission/converter is in the turbo fairmont going low 10s/high 9s at 140mph.

Don't think they are trash IMO if they can hold 800 on a truck 1000 on a car but yes a 4L80e will out last going to do the 4l80 down the road turns out its more work than I honestly thought
