im looking to do a cam too.. something with a little lopey at idle with as much bottom end as i can get

keep in mind big cam and stall if the gears are wack not much difference off the line

In that case a cam package and a nice 3200 would do the job great

Would it be better for him to hold off on a cam until he goes forced induction? Idk but I thought that there are cams designed to be optimal with supercharged applications (I assume that's the route he'll take) n/a or turbo applications.

Does your truck have VVT? I know I've seen quite a few people more knowledgeable than I condemn utilizing VVT when "camming" ones vehicle but it seems to me that it would help with low end power more than a nonVVT.

I agree with what most everyone else said- 3200 stall. You won't regret it

Idk much about it but I read a few things here and there and the consensus seemed to be that Underdrive pulleys don't really do much. Probably not as useless as a throttle body spacer but I believe one person actually grouped those 2 together when talking about their use.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of that.
