I swapped out my original 265/70/17s for 285/70/17s, with stock 17x7.5 aluminum rims, and put a ReadyLift 2.25" kit on the front to keep them from rubbing. Worked out great.

How much taller and wider are they? I want something a little wider for stability and a little better ride instead of hitting places in the road and the whole front end bounces up and down.....

I'd say they're about an inch wider and two inches taller, mine are BFG Rugged Terrain T/As.

Here's the tires: Rugged Terrain T/A | BFGoodrich Tires

And here's a size calculator: Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

But if your front end is bouncing like that I'd take a good look at your shocks also.

Good luck.

I have 285s on my older truck and they are a good fit, taken to hell and back and hasn't rubbed or anything. Looks better than stock too...
