Default Tr224 in a 4.8

I'm wanting to buy a cam tonight. I have a 08 rcsb with 22's stock besides tune and a muffler, I was wondering if a tr224 112lsa cam and springs would be good for this truck. And a 3600 stall. Do I need anything else besides maybe headers. Can I use my stock air intake?

i would upgrade your intake. What kind of gears do you have for the truck? stock as well? I honestly think a tr224 is a bit much for a 4.8, im sure others will agree. Even with a 3600 stall. I had a tr224 in my 5.3 ecsb I sold last year, with a tb stall (kick myself in the ***) and it was okay, but needed the stall to compliment the cam. I would go more on the lines of a tr220 or 212/218 cam.

That's a pretty big cam for a little 4.8

I have stock 3.23 gears. Was planning on going with 4.10's. I know a 224 seems a bit big for this truck but it does have good flowing heads and intake manifold stock. I want something with food power from 3000rpm and up with a good chop to it

When I was Gona cam my 4.8 I was looking at 218/222 600 ish 111+3 cam... 4.8 don't have lower end torque so that 3600 and some 430 gears should wake it up...

should run pretty good with a 9.5" 3600 converter and 4.10s. look into a new intake tube and some 1 3/4" long tubes at least.

If ur truck has vvt I have a came I think that would work good for you. It's vvt though. 219/228 550/550 114. Sounds awesome. To much for my heavy 4x4 ext cab and 2800 stall. Would work good in yours. My new cam will be in shortly so if your interested and sounds like it would work I'll make u a deal
