1st) what do you mean you replaced it with something similar?
2nd) what prompted you to replace it?
3rd) is the compressor working and pumping up the new shock?

Was anything else done on the vehicle? Different wheels/tires?

I'd re-check everything on the installation. Something may have been knocked loose, to a wheel speed sensor, or something next to the shocks.

Installation Procedure

Install the shock absorber (5).
Install the upper shock absorber nut (1) and the bolt (2).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Install the lower shock absorber nut (6) and bolt (7).
Tighten
Tighten the upper and lower shock absorber nuts (1) and (5) to 115 N·m (85 lb ft).

Reconnect the electronic suspension control connector, if equipped (3).
Reconnect the air line (4), if equipped.
Remove the support from the rear axle.
Lower the vehicle.
If the vehicle is equipped with air leveling, perform the following:
• Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.

• Install a scan tool.

• With the scan tool, operate the air compressor for 30 seconds or until rear of the vehicle begins to rise.

• Remove the scan tool.

• Cycle the ignition OFF, then back ON, with the engine ON to allow the air suspension system to regain the desired rear suspension position.
Was the vehicle level when you started it back up? If so, the compressor may have thrown a code because it took too long to reach ride height without being able to manualy cycle the compressor using a tech2. I'd try reseting the computer in that instance.

Its hard to make heads or tails of that pic but I would bet its either a ride height sensor or wheel speed sensor connector.
