I have installed the 4L80e in my 08 silverado and still haven't found an RPM signal. For the transmission to shift at the rpm I want it to.
Now I use the speed to shift in cruising but TCI TCU requires an rpm signal to **** at WOT.

Rick you said you had a 6-speed installed you had Jim do that for you? Does everything work good as far as the wiring goes because if so that'd be even easier since Jims the tuner for my truck anyway.

A 6l80 shouldn't be a hard swap into a GMT900. Just need the shifter stalk for the tap shift and add the wires and flash the PCM. Just compare a wiring diagram for a 4l60/70 truck to a 09 1500 6l80 truck. Add the wires and connections for the trans. You might have to swap dashes maybe. Seems easy enough. You'll need driveshaft mod. and crossmember as well.
