I'm a big fan of the 60e, but in a heavy truck 5,000+lbs, and near 500hp at the wheel, you will have problems with it.

If you did end up running the 60e also run a deep gear such as a 4.56, it really helps out the 60e

What kind of build up are you doing to get 500hp?

i am just gona throw it out there, while the 60e built vs. 80e shift kit debate is going on...why dont you look into prices for a 6l80e and be one of the only people that does that. they mate up on the nnbs with different motor options now, get the tcm, crossmember and work with the trans shop to get it all working right. dont forget to get with your tuner as well to get everything to mesh right. dont yell at my noobness but thats what i would do.

to the point build the 4L80e
This is the only problem I have ever had with a built 60e.... The "fix" is one of two things.

Race in D instead of OD, in D it applies the overrun clutches and helps support the sprag in 1st and second gear, it will release in 3rd making for a slower 2-3 shift.

Or you can get a aftermarket vlave to replave something in the valve body that applies the overrun at all times in the D position, I'm going to do this next time I have the 60e out, but for now I have been just running in D when I race.

It would be nice if someone made a slightly wider sprag assembly for this transmission, I think it would fix alot of problems.

I've made about 25-30 mid 10sec passes at the track on this 60e in my camaro, and countless passes on the street for a full year and a half before the sprag let loose

That would be a killer combo, almost the same head /cam setup as my 6.0 in my camaro, makes 451 rwhp at the tire with a 3600 converter. with a 4l60e FTW

add a fast intake manifold with the 102mm TB, some internal upgrades and polishing TLC to button it all up nice like, good to go rip the strip up. god i wish i had the money....some day. thanks for the compliment though, im really new at deciphering cam specs and what would work, but with enough research id say anything is possible if done right.

I have the fast 92 now, the 102 would be nice, but I don't think its worth a grand to swap from my 92 for 8 rwhp

i plan on swapping in a 4l80e when the 60e goes out on my NNBS..
mines a CC 4wd with 33" tires so i dont think any 60e is going to hold up when i put some power into it.....

A built 6.0 with a maggie. 3.73 gears, 3200 stall.
This is going in a 07 nnbs so how much do you think it would cost to do a 4L80 compared to a 4L60. As of right now, Morris Transmissions is suppose to do the build.
