Truck has begun squalling when started in the AM
Ok this has happened more than once in the past week. In fact we (a friend and i) noted a similar noise about a week ago while driving..
This morning it was worse..
It was approximately 2degrees F here this morning when i started the truck to let it warm up, it squalled for a good few seconds (noise seems to be radiating from the front of the engine, went away with rpm) then quit.. Then started again in a few seconds. I also noted it when the truck would shift from first to second.
I noted some red fluid of some sort on the fuse block cover the other day, as though it has been slung from the front of the engine..
(water pump starting to go, causing this noise when cold)
Also the power steering was whining but i attribute that to the extreme temps..

red fluid..normally Trans fluid or power steering sometimes is red...might want to check your fluid levels...and then go from there...could have a busted seal/o-ring causing a leak underpressure
orange/red fluid is coolant

Ok, that is what i wanted to hear..
It seems that all noises are a little more prominant when the cold strikes, creaks and bumps..
Terrible, if only cummins had a testing facility down south i could be read of all of this shitty weather..

trans fluid is the only fluid that is red. the coolant is "light redish/dark orange" color. powersteering fluid is actually clear (unless used then it is a dark color almost like fresh motor oil)
