I assume the dealer implied it was sold AS IS, with no warranty?

Well the trucks 100K powertrain is out the window, but the dealership gave me a limited 3month/3,000mile warranty. Limited meaning it excludes heavy duty vehicles and performance modifications. I bought the truck already modified and only put 1,400 highway miles in a matter of two weeks when it blew. The carlot has a very good reputation with 100% posative feedback and reviews. They don't want to lose that 100% so the manager said he's gonna make things right. I just don't see him writting a $9,000 check for a new engine. So now I'm literally just sittting by the phone waiting for his call. Either they are going to fix it or he's gonna use the fine print against me and I'm screwed.

Thanks. If you guys were in my shoes with a broke down Sierra Denali and had to pay to fix it, what route would you go as far as getting the truck running? Stock GM 6.2L, TSP LS3/L92 376 or 418 short block, TSP LQ9 408 or 421? etc....

I personally like the idea of doing a 416/418 stroker, or even going bigger with one of the dry-sleeve blocks

Depends on how deep your pockets are and what you have in mind for the truck.

I can sell my Seadoo RXP so I can spend whatever. The most important thing to consider is that this truck is my daily driver, so street manners and long term reliability is key.

Hmmm ... OK, dream machine: stroker crank, blueprinted and balanced, a custom spec'd VVT cam and that Whipple you've been thinking about.
