Exactly. my dads 95' 3/4 ton RCLB gets 21mpg, and it weighs 7800lbs.

also VMAX, with your theory, if i put like a 572 in my truck, would my gas mileage increase since i've got so much more power to carry my truck along?

VMax, what headers and exhaust are you running. I've been looking and you could use your input as I have a similiar VMAX (GMC) with a Blackbear 93 tune and K&N intake. Thanks

read an article in gm high tech performance that they put an LS2 in an S10 with a t56 and it acheived better fuel economy and ran awesome. I am not saying put a gas guzzling 572 4 barrel monster in your rig, but a fuel efffiecient V8 opened up with intake and headers. you know all the bolt ons to let air and fuel in as fast and easy as possible.
