I've been driving my dad's rcsb Silverado with the 4.3 because I'm still waiting on the new tranny for my truck. I get so frustrated with this truck, it doesn't have enough power to get out of its own way. It has 177,000 miles on it so that may have something to do with it.

i would say save up and do the swap. you will appreciate your truck more and get props from alot of people. it does take hours and a couple thousand but it is worth it. dont get an sts turbo cuz it will still sound like a shitty V6. you want that chevy V8 sound trust me!! All motor is the only way to role and get respect

Horse Power is Horse Power.

All Motor sounds catchy, but I wanna win.

I have raced little 4 bangers with tons turbos or nitrous, and if I lost I didn't go around claiming all motor.

I don't know if I would swap a motor in a new truck. A lot of what you paid for that truck was warranty and you throw it all away with the motor swap.

it takes alot to get a 4 banger in the high 12's. but a V8 truck. just a set of good headers with full exhaust, 3500 stall, ported good heads (could be factory) cam and custom tune should get you in that range. guys do it all the time!

Thats why a turbo is a great thing. He probily could get low 12's with enough gear and tire.

Gen 4 if you want it to be smog legal, and the swap would probily be easier since the harness and computer will look for the new style motor. They switched the location of some sensors and it gets a new reluctor wheel.
