Default variable tuning 2011 silverado

Is there a way to turn off the Variable tuning on a 2011 Silverado 5.3? I want to keep it on all 8 all the time. Thanks Adam

i think you mean you want to turn off the DOD (displacement on demand), not the VVT(variable valve timing)

Yes you can turn off AFM with a good software like HPtuners or EfiLive

But tread lightly on that thing with those POS collapsible lifters....

Here's my issue at first I thought it was the trans shuddering. But then noticed it only did it under light throttle when the fuel management kicks in. Feels like the truck is bogging down when in V4 then it throws all 8 to it and snaps your head back. If the transition was seamless I wouldn't have any problem with it. Maybe its just my truck with the issue but it gets old quick especially with the cruise set.

Yeah thats kinda how they are, even the non AFM trucks are kinda like that. Im not a fan AT ALL of AFM though. VVT is great but AFM sucks bull sack and to make matters worse really doesnt do much at all for fuel mileage in the real world. The stock tune likes to keep things in bog/dog mode as long as possible hence the lazy transition and hard hit when getting on it after cruising etc. Im sure you could get a good tuner to smooth that out for you to suit your driving style but the whole AFM system belongs in the scrap pile imo.

ok next question if I have it tuned out would the warranty be void? Truck only has 11000 miles on it I would hate to void it for something like this.
