I see what you mean, yes they are way over priced IMO also but man the topend was worth it tho but I do see your point

Id say thats a pretty happy dyno. I bet that truck also had to run a fat *** converter for the donkey dick cam it was running too.

Id go for the extra cubes mod first. The part throttle gain in tq alone is worth it over a cam and heads package that will move the powerband even higher up. I had a cammed 5.3 back in the day, and while it ran great it didnt compare power wise to my milder cam 6.0. The 6.0 ran awesome even with the shitty cam it had.

What year 5.3L? Most 07 and up with bolt ons and cam see about 370 to 390rwhp add some worked heads and intake setup you will net some good numbers we run a 3600 stall on this one and for it to run a 12.10 is pretty good in my book vs having to pay money for an engine swap then modding you can save playing with the 5.3L it's really not bad of an engine tberes a few cammed 6.0 guys that can't even keep just sharing my 2 cents. OP whatever you throw in its gonna be a good outcome

It's not a Dyno. I took my truck to them. What kind of cam is good for these trucks. 6.2 is kinda out of the question as of right now.

LY6's are pretty damm reasonable it all depends on what you want and have to spend. I'm from old school no replacement for displacement.

By the time you get cnc heads for around 1k and 600 for a cam package. You can just buy a ly6 6.0 or if you get luck you might find a 6.2 for that much. Just swap it in yourself and save $

But if he does that to his 5.3L it will still be making more power than the ly6 and 6.2L

I suggest a 6.0 or a 6.2
