What to expect-Long Tubes
#14
Most people say it just helps a little with throttle response and might rev a little quicker. But a lot of people that swap out pulleys have electrical issues because of the decreased alternator speed, even with a smaller pulley on it.

Yeah, I am contemplating the UD pulley on my truck, but I wasn't sure because of the electical junk. I'll look further into it. I saw that they only make about 5 or 6 hp...almost negligable, but the extra quickness in the rev dept. is pretty nice. Just up to you and your baller status! lol

I had them on my 01 and was going to put them on my 08 and ended up taking them back. From what I read you gain about 5-8hp and about the same tq. The engine does spin up a little faster. On my 01 there was a big difference because I did them at the same time I installed the efans. I ran the alt pulley and had no charging problems at all even with the efans running full blast, headlights, and light stereo bumping. The pulleys with the alt pulley are going to run you about $200 -$225. New crank bolt $5ish and belts are going to run you $40 to $60. My tag on both pulleys, belts, bolt with tax locally from thunderracing was $330. I figured for the little gain I would put the $$$ towards the stereo side.
Your mods are close to mine. I have the airraid tube going to the stock box, a local efi live tune, corsa touring exhaust, and dynatech long tube headers with their cats and y pipe. I haven't done the dyno but it will get up and move enough for me. My truck only has 9k miles on it anything else on the engine side will wait a couple of years.
GM makes some fender liners that go for $70-$100 for the rear fender wells. Very nice tight fit that takes about 20min to install with the tires still on the truck.
