Plus the heads on the 6.2s are really good so a lot of people are going cam only I would suppose. Not like a 6.0 you can throw 243's on and get gains, the 6.2 heads are pretty darn good as they are.

i'm just worried about the heavy valves. Read they give problems under higher mileage/hp trucks. Might be a nice piece of mind to change valves if reving close to 7K

I guess I just look at it differently. When putting a cam in, you are already in position to upgrade the heads so why not?
I was really looking forward to using the new small bore LS3/L92 heads from PRC, figuring that they would seriously out torque the factory heads (good for a heavy truck) but they won't be available in time for my project next week so I am just having the factory heads ported.

The valvetrain isn't my concern because I'm not trying to make a high peak hp number up around the mid 6000s. I want my transmission to last shifting gears in a 5400lb truck so I went with a smaller than usual cam so I can still shift at 6000-6200 and make very strong low and midrange power. I want my truck to remain a truck; towing, offroading, etc. I didn't want to cam it like I did my GTO.

Seems like you have a nice cam selected already. Is it a VVT cam?

Whats up Brutal, ive seen you on hpt i the one buying your t/b.
I'm currently paying on my LS3 heads to complete the build. the short block is done, intake wise i went with what I could afford, the L92 intake and your T/B. I could not see me spending close to a grand for the LXRT intake, that could better be used elsewhere like my drive train.
