what brand gears? what kind of gear oil? seems to me the backlash isnt set up right, or you just have a noisey set of gears. mine does it at 45ish then stops but im running Yukon gears so theyre gonna have noise.
a retune wont break anything, its the way the rear end is set up that will break things

motive is a loud gear so i hear. whats the backlash set at how about the wear pattern? does the noise stay from w.e speed all the way till you're stopped? no matter what speed it is or just at a certain speed? i put about 200 or so miles on my gears/tru-trac before i put any real abuse on them.

can you barely hear it? did you hear it all the way till you stopped? if you speed up about the time you hear the noise will it make noise still? if so the backlash is wrong, or you didnt shim the gears right. i wouldnt worry about it if its barely noticeable imo. the gears will be louder than stock gears

I'm going through the same thing right now with my gear swap, going to have to change them out I'm pretty sure as they are loud as hell no matter what you do with the back lash...mine are Yukon 4.11s and they were making a little noise during decel so we tried to change and reset them a couple different ways and now they are making noise under load also.
