only way to keep the "noise" to nothing like stock is to run a stock gear. they are supposedly heat treated different and blah blah blah. my yukons dont bother me anymore, im use to it. plus i havent driven my truck but maybe 75 miles in the last 2.5 months so the exhaust is what distracts me

Lol, well yeah my gears would definitely bother you now, probably not the way they were when first installed as they weren't to bad, but now damn, lol, but we will get them right or at least tolerable.

what are they shimmed at? i put mine at .005" or so gm calls for .003-009" but it all depends on the gear you select and IF they are heat treated close to the GM standards. AAM*i think thats the name* is the highest standard gear you can buy since they are the ones that make the gears for GM.

its just that the gear is noisey. i wouldnt worry about it. if it gets to the point where you cant stand it, then swap them out for a set of stock GM 4:10s and youll never have that noise again.

My Usa standard 410s do the same at only certain mph range. After a certain point you can't hear it anymore, then when I'm slowing down your can hear it again at that certain mph range. What is the backlash suppose to be set at? Imma take it back to my installer to fix this annoying noise.
