Who ditched their stock radio?
The pac module I bought uses a external chime module to replicate all the tones that used to come through the stock left front speaker. Just curious what you did and or not do with the chime module.
The chime module sounds crappy
1 option ditch it completely enjoy pure silence
2 option wire it into the the left front speaker so it comes through the stock speakers.
3 option hide the module behind the dash and just get used to it over time.

I have a pioneer p4100dvd and used the module.... I did not connect any speakers to the module and the no door open chime, seat belt chime, etc is GREAT. Since I have an amp for my door speakers that is connected directly to the radio through RCA's it obviously has no communication with the module..... only downside is you would not be able to communicate using onstar if you wanted. This didn't bother me though.
Note that if you wanted to keep everything working stock, including speakers / onstar / chimes all you have to do is wire the radio outputs to the module speaker inputs and everything functions the same as factory, only you have a non stock radio.

I have the pac os4 that will keep the onstar and steering wheel controls working and keep the OEM bluetooth working.
The chime module it uses simply plugs in so you can either leave it off and it all works as normal or plug it in and hear the chime. I'm really thinking bout just ditching it. The silence would be nice
I'm doing a full system utilizing custom kick panels with components in the front so I'm not even bothering the factory bose if onstar call is placed or bluetooth is being used it automatically mutes my pioneer nav unit and then plays the bluetooth and onstar through the front factory door speakers that I'm abandoning in place.
