Default who has their TM turned off on their trucks? Question on my tune

So when i was getting my truck road tuned last weekend i asked the tuner if he turned off my TM and he said no. I gave him the (ummmmm...why) responce and he said he turns it way down and said something about it changing something to a .004 delay vs something else. Sooooo ok....

My question is who has their truck tuned (more specifically 2011+ with the new trans) and do you like it and what did it actually change feel wise? I hate the fact that my truck still has the "neutral" feel inbetween shifts. He turned up the line pressure but feels retarded cause during shifts it feels like a neutral drop everytime. Ideas?

I know what you are talking about with the "neutral" feeling betwee then shifts. Mine did that before I got tuned. I was telling my friend about it and described it as "my transmission takes a nap between shifts" LOL. Since being tuned, that bs is gone and it shifts quickly without a delay. I don't know what all my tuner did, but I do know the torque management is completely removed.

I've got a Black Bear tune; he removed the TM from the ECM but can't change the 6L80. The shift feel is a LOT quicker and more positive, but def not banging. I love it.

Torque management will have no effect on that 'neutral' feeling between shifts.

blackbear did my tuning when he did a chicago trip last weekend but didnt remove it all. I bought the autocal and im gonna have him send me a new tune with it all removed. If that doesnt take the neutral feeling out of the trans what will? Different servo, valve body etc...? He said hes now able to retune the trans also, or not as much as he wants to change?

Just put a stronger servo in and that will quicken it up between shifts for sure.

Which “stronger servo” is suitable in our 6L80?

This. Up the line pressure.

We did up the line pressure, it makes it shift a lot harder.... after the neutral drop! it's really annoying

Adapts on, shift times +0.3 or +0.6 (cut overlap, but not too much and wouldn't zero this out), pressure up, or even try a converter...and apparently TM has to be on, or atleast on somewhat, to cut the dead spot. The 6L80 is clutch-to-clutch, so do expect it to take a bit longer to switch over.
