Basically TM% is how much percentage of the engine HP is reduced during the shift. If you shut it off then full power of the engine is delivered to the transmission during the shift.

So it has nothing with off idol launches, mid rpm roll-ons etc? Only during shifts?

I have my TM pulling timing only. Takes .04 on every shift except my 4-5,5-6. I couldnt take the hammering shifts.

interesting topic. I haven't played with my transmission settings to much yet with my tune. There is so many tables and settings I don't even know where to start.

Does anyone have a link to a good thread where someone really gets into the details that I could read through? I can do the trial and error method but that makes me a little nervous LOL

There's a big debacle over on HPT forum about guys who couldn't get the 80E's to shift as quick as the non-clutch-to-clutch tranny's. Register over there, if you aren't already, and they can help you out a good bit. I don't have an account there anymore, but I know right when the A6's really started to get popular as a subject for tuning, there was a guy over there who really had it down from all of the C6's he had tuned. If I think of his user name, I'll let you know.

I am a user over there, same name as here just haven't posted over there yet, just lots of reading. I have found a few threads talking about it but guess I need to search more on it. I know there is lots of room for improvement in mine just need an idea of where to start with it.

Check on the first/second page where I posted, and try out what I put (first page). It should lessen shift time, while still keeping TM, to some extent.

No servos/bands in the 6L80E. It's all clutches.
