Wife coming back to the good side--Towing ??'s

The thing you have to remember about a diesel is even though they are more expensive they hold their value MUCH better. They get better mileage than gas engines, tow better, and contrary to popular belief arent more expensive to maintain. While the oi lchanges cost more you can go much longer than on a gas engine. If I had to do it over again I wouldve kept my dmax and sold my Z with all the other crap Ive got and jsut rolled with it. I picked up my 06 CCSB 4wd LT3 with all the bells and whistles with 73K on it in January of 08 for 26OTD, there is no reason why you cant find one for a decent price. I bought it in Rosenberg by the way, so they are out there in your area just have to look.
I drove a 2010 ccsb 5.3 and was very underwhelmed with its performance, maybe a 6.2 thats been tuned would be a lot better or maybe I was just spoiled by my dmax. My cammed LQ4 still isnt as nice as my dmax towing wise or just regular driving. If after I finish all the bolt ons and the radix, doesnt tow and drive much better I will be parting it out and getting me another used dmax. You just cant beat them IMO.

I have no dounbt at all the Dmax is a good engine, and much better than the POS 6.0. I can tell you I have no desire to jump back into another diesel anytime soon.
Its going to be a gasser, just have to find the right setup for what we want it for. The truck is first and foremost a daily driver for my wife. The 5 or 6 times a year that it will tow the trailer I want it to do the job, with the horses we're not worried about getting there fast, just getting there safely.
Perhaps one day we'll get another diesel, I can tell you that if that day does arrive it will most definitely be a DuraMax. I do value all the information though.

I'm with Cody on the diesel aspect of things, however I too had a bad experience with a Ford six-Ooooo-no Liter just a few weeks ago so I can understand your frustration.
I would never get a ford diesel, or ford in general.

Not a problem Curtis, hell sounds like youll be happier with a tacoma than you would with that Ford so I dont youre going to be disappointed with anything you get
If it was me Id be getting one of the NHT packages that has the heavy duty 14 bolt and the 6.2, there is no way I would go with a 5.3 just in general even if I wasnt towing. From how people post on here and the times they put down the 6.2s are a beast.
You going out to SAR or to the HPD event in May? Seems like youve been hiding forever, I dont think Ive seen you since what 06?

Cody, I think right now I'd be happier with a Prius than the Powerjoke......Ok, well maybe not, but its pretty damn bad.
It has been a while since I've been to any of the events, doubt I'd make it to the SAR event, but could probably do the HPD one.
