Default Will a new torque converter work??

ok guys i am about to order my american racing headers and get a re-tune. Next i want to beef up my tranny, its a 4l70e super duty if i am not mistaken. My truck is a vortec max which comes with AFM. and i did a little research and it says a good way to get good transitions from 8-to-4 cylinder mode is by using a special torque converter to control the slip which gets good transtions. I wanted to put a 3,000 stall, shift kit, servos in it to beef it up. Is this possible? cuz i cant find any parts for a 4l70e and i dont know if it will mess up the AFM?? so guys help me out

Just turn the damn AFM off, it is worthless anyway. I think I am going to have Justin do that for me next time I get an update to my tune.

Hadn't heard anything about using a converter to soften the V4 to V8 transition. It isn't anymore noticable than the AC clutch kicking in on other vehicles i've owned.

As for the TC, installed a TT3000 this weekned. Definately helps off the line, sure it would be even snapier with the 6.0 (5.3 here). Ups the fun factor. I'd say go for it. Haven't pulled anything with it yet but she definately crusies at higher rpm's until it locks up. Haven't done the servos yet but plan to soon.

the shift kit and servos will be made for a 4L60E...the 4L70E is a beefeed up 4L60E but all the parts still transfer over.
