Default Y pipe to cat back connection on 2010???

I ordered long tubes and y pipe ( got the coated headers and y pipe from pace setter for 2007.5+) for my bro in law for his 2010 silverado 5.3. He is over seas in the Air Force and I'm doing this as a surprise so I can't ask him... What is the connection from the y pipe to the factory pipe? The connection on the y pipe I received used two studs and nuts like on my 2001 but I did exhaust on my friends truck (2012)a few weeks ago and it has a band connection there. Looked like a "ball socket" kinda

Yeah a 2010 will have the ball and socket connection. I believe if you order any y pipe now as long as it's for the 07.5+ trucks they come with both connections from pacesetter, at least that's how it was when I had ordered some pacesetters from Texas speed for my 09 Sierra.

Did you have issues with the 02 sensors at all I noticed the bung for the passenger side is on the top side of the header... That's how mine was on my tsp headers for my 2001 and I had to weld another bung into it

nope the 02 will fit fine
however that pacesetter y pipe is poorly designed.
does he have the 6l80e?

It's a six speed. Is there a six speed 60e and 80e? It's a 5.3 half ton truck

No only 6 speed in the half tons is the 6l80e. And like stated above the y pipe isn't the best but will work with some persuasion. I found that on my 09 the ball connection didn't seal up at all so I just had a connection made at a muffler shop. Might be different with yours tho only way to tell is when you have it all hooked up. Either way great gift I'm sure he will like the headers and new found power.

Thanks for the heads up... Ill be doing the swap on a lift so there will be plenty of room for persuasion. Lol what kind of connection did you have the exhaust shop do?
