Default 2014 silverado 5.3 liter engine specs out

I found an online link yesterday with the specs on the new 5.3...it is 355hp and 383tq. The fuel mileage for the 4x4 is 16/22. I'm suprised that nobody else has posted this yet. There was no info out about the 4.3 or 6.2 yet. I think that it was truck trend or trucking???

Maybe someone else has seen this and can post a link.

I saw a few sources but here is one:

GM Details 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra

23 mpg highway is pretty impressive imo.

..although in terms of pure horsepower, the [GM] trucks are down on power compared to Ford’s EcoBoost V-6 and its 5.0-liter V-8, as well as Ram’s 5.7-liter Hemi V-8..
Disappointing but not unexpected. Gonna stick with my tuned 5.3 LMG a while longer.

I read on motor trends site that the 6.2 will have afm for 2014 which surprises me after all the complaints with it. My 2013 doesn't have it which was the initial reason I chose it over the 5.3

40 hp and 48 lb-ft for the 5.3 L83 over the previous 2013 GEN 4 engine, not bad, and still on 87 octane.

355 Certified hp, thats 1.09 hp/cubic inch,decent for a NA "truck" engine.
GEN IV LS7 gets 1.18 hp/cube.
GEN IV 5.3 truck 0.97 hp/cube on gas and 1.00 hp/cube on E85.

1.18 lb/ft torque per cube, that beats the LS7 at 1.1 lb/ft per cube.
GEN IV 5.3 truck got 1.03 on gas and 1.07 lb/ft/cube on E85

I'd like to see some weight stats on the new Kxxx trucks. Wondering how heavy they are.

I wonder how the EPA rates mileage as compared to 10 years ago? Maybe they have finally stareted to "realistically" rated the mileage of vehicles. Just like the SAE did starting in 2006 with the SAW CERTIFIED power/torque ratings???????????

peace

I saw somewhere they shaved almost 500# of total weight off the truck, that would explain why the MPG's went up. Those numbers are just pure bs though, marketing....

You can beat GM has there AFM is full effect at that Target test range of 55MPH. This truck going 70 MPH isn't going to stay in AFM mode, even with no load in the bed.

I would get around 18mpg in my 2011 6.2 that was tuned by Pat G, whether i was going 70 or 80.

I hope they prove me wrong though. Im still think they should have a small displacement Twin turbo'd V8, Maybe slap some turbo's on the 4.8 and tune the hell out of it, 24MPG's all day long. I can dream right ?
