11500 max towing? That's more than the current 6.2...

Did anyone catch the towing capacity for the 5.3 being 11,500 lbs? That's a hell of a load on the 1/2 ton id love to see the hp/tq and towing capacity of the 6.2. Probably around 12,500lbs? One day these 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks will make big rigs obsolete.

No doubt the Gen V architecture is another significant evolution.
DI will likely be become de rigueur for all manufacturers as they cope with CAFE etc.
It’ll be a hoot to see how the aftermarket exploits this engine with FI et al!

Wow. Curious the Max Trailering Package (NHT) is ostensibly now available with a 5.3.

Your right. I'm averaging 10 mpgs with 75% highway driving in my 07 Avalanche
It's pretty much stock besides the k&n intake. I miss my 03 silverado.

Damn that makes me feel better about the 11 mpg I get with my 6.2 on e85!

I have never owned anything new before but if they offer military pricing for the gas powered 3500, I may just bite.

If we can retrofit the heads on to gen 3 and gen 4 blocks, 214's may now be the 799's and 243's we desire.

sounds like your driving habits could be the main cause. my dads 2010 CC will get 17.5+
