Did anyone catch the towing capacity for the 5.3 being 11,500 lbs? That's a hell of a load on the 1/2 ton id love to see the hp/tq and towing capacity of the 6.2. Probably around 12,500lbs? One day these 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks will make big rigs obsolete.

DI will likely be become de rigueur for all manufacturers as they cope with CAFE etc.
It’ll be a hoot to see how the aftermarket exploits this engine with FI et al!
Wow. Curious the Max Trailering Package (NHT) is ostensibly now available with a 5.3.

I have never owned anything new before but if they offer military pricing for the gas powered 3500, I may just bite.
If we can retrofit the heads on to gen 3 and gen 4 blocks, 214's may now be the 799's and 243's we desire.

does anybody know the camshaft specs on the 2014 5.3. my 2012 was rated at 21mpg hiway. thats a joke. im getting 12.5 on 93 and 11.5 on e85. but it runs good for a small cube motor. 5.3btw.
