Yeah but on volume alone its a bogus comparo because it has way less specific gravity. But ethanol does have a LOT higher octane. If you compress it properly it would equalize that margin out, maybe surpass it even. We built a lot of propane conversions back in the 80's ( propane ONLY ) that rivaled gasoline engines on mileage and power... just pointing out what many think cant be done often can.

Anyways im not trying to start a pissing contest, any which way you slice it the stock E85 set up is compromised to allow the use of regular pump gas as well.

It could be improved substantially if it was set up and tuned for E85 only. Thats all im saying

I wish I could remember who posted this, but somebody on here has been reporting REALLY great mileage with E85 by tuning specifically for it. Hope he sees this.

Personally I love it too, for performance, but it does cost more per mile with today's motors (tune, cam, cr, etc.).

I'm not sure if he gained mileage, but he definitely gained power. He has tuned mine for e85. The tune still needs some work, and I added a turbo in the process, I used to consistently get about 19 or so, winter or summer before turbo and e85. I get about 13 now.
