I'm just trying to figure out what part I actually need because both upper and lower arms and steering knuckle are aluminum. If I did my research correctly, it looks like GM superceeded the aluminum arms with stamped steel arms and the stamped steel arms will work with the aluminum knuckles since they have the same ball joint type but the cast arms won't work with the aluminum knuckles. I'd like to stick with aluminum because #racecar but truthfully I don't care.

Anyone got a part number for upper and lower for both sides that work with aluminum steering knuckles? Everything I see on Rock Auto says it works on vehicles without aluminum steering knuckles.

Double check your lowers. It looks like those press out/use a snap ring.

The uppers are challenging to find on RockAuto.

I found uppers on Rock Auto from Mevotech. $107/ea for aluminum. I found the lowers from the same brand for $158/ea. I wanted all new arms so I could get new bushings as well since I can't seem to find lower control arm bushings.

I do arms and joints on GM trucks all the time.

For uppers, get arms. Dealer or Moog only.

Lowers, inspect the lower control arm bushings. If they aren't cracked, separating, or falling apart just do lower ball joints. Dealer or Moog.

Well where were you 2hrs ago when I ordered haha.
These have decent reviews from what I’ve seen. Not to mention, I can’t find a moog upper that works with the aluminum steering knuckle that I’ve got and my lower bushings have seen better days. And I don’t want to deal with swapping brake lines when going to the stamped steel redesigned arms.

Sorry man busy day at work and didn't even see that you posted you already ordered them already.

Mevotech may be just fine. I really don't know. All I do know is I have seen people time and time again try low cost front end parts and not last long at all. Seen as low as a week. But we're talking scouring ebay for the lowest cost available in the world CHEAP junk. And I know that every single time we use dealer or moog we do not have issues so I just stick with those because there hasnt been a time yet I couldn't get one of the two.

I've heard of mevotech many times but never used that brand, but always had a feeling it was one of the better quality offerings.

I’m screwing with ya bud.

I’ve been doing this long enough that I don’t even look at the economy brand stuff anymore. I think the saying goes buy once cry once. I’ve read some good stuff on the mevotech. Guess time will tell. Just wish I didn’t have the aluminum front end. That’s been the tricky part. Trying to find parts that work with it sucks because at some point GM quit using aluminum and went to stamped but I haven’t found a clear delineation on when or what part numbers. I tried searching gm-trucks.com but all I saw was someone asking about a solution followed by 30 people complaining they have the problem followed by 10 more saying GM should issue a recall and then that was the end.
