I remember seeing the cut away pictures on like Chevrolet Performance or GM High Tech Mags facebook, and they had them. I thinking they quoted them being there for better lubrication more so than cooling of the piston, just happens to be a positive of doing so.

Other way around the piston oil squirters are there more for piston cooling than lubrication, esp in the supercharged GEN 4 LSA and LS9 engines and upcomming supercharged GEN 5 engines. The squirters are NOT active during cruise, as this would hurt fuel economy. They are active during WOT/higher engine revs to remove heat from the piston.

There was never an Astro van with an L31 Vortec 350 that rolled off the factory that way. The fullsize Exrpress Savana vans got them, but not the smallerS-10 based Astro vans.

If it had a V8, itas a conversion, 100 no if ands or buts.

I'm just curious to see how long it will take to some to install an LT1 cam in a 6.2P truck engine. Like the LS9 swap into my 2012 6.2L. That will be interesting.
