The LT1 and L86 use the same camshaft.

Well we will know a little more about the 6.2's performance in about 6 weeks! My brother ordered his yesterday and they said it should be here in about 6 weeks!! I'm anxious to see how it runs against my tuned 2011 6.2!!

Ok I was mistaken where those vans came from. The vans' powertrain was designed and developed by a company called Ferguson Formula Development. They were Licensed by GM in the early 90's to design an AWD system for the Astro Van Platform and other products. Why not just use the current 4WD system? Because GM had not had much success using an AWD/4WD system in a Subframe type vehicle that weighed as much as that van. The AWD vans were available through Chevy and GMC dealers for a brief time with an LO5 engine option because the current at that time 4.3 did not produce enough power for the AWD van. But the 4.3 power output was substantially increased and the LO5 was dropped.
So Did GM ever do a V8 in an Astro Van? Did GM ever produce a Z28 in 2001?
MORE WORTHLESS INFO ! I'm done high jacking this thread.

Wanting to know for when I roll through the dealership or looking at them on autotrader. All the reviews Ive seen have been awesome. From some looking on autotrader it looks like there is about a 9k markup on the high end trucks which puts the truck id want within my price range. Only way Id get one though is with the 6.2 though.

Yeah, I know what you mean - I'm just being a smartass.

I really want to know what they'll list for, what equipment is required in order to get a 6.2, and how much the dealers will be willing to "negotiate."

The all terrain package GMC with all the goodies(nav, sunroof etc) stickers for right at 50k and there is a dealer advertising it for 41k. Not bad IMO. There isn't much else package wise that would add a ton more other than the 6.2 upcharge. Id bet the 6.2 comes with a 1500ish upcharge but Im sure someone on here can actually give a real number. I don't need all that lane assist BS or a heated steering wheel. Still don't understand why the damn all terrain package doesn't allow you to get cooled seats though. That's annoying.

Some of their mandatory option combinations, and "sorry not-available" combinations these days are just plain crap.

Yep, I love the all terrain package in black but Id really like cooled seats too. My wifes old Lincoln aviator had cooled seats and they were awesome in the Texas summer heat. I want a black, all terrain, crew cab short bed 4wd with nav, sunroof, tow mirrors, trailer brake controller, 3.73 gears, 6.2 and towing package. I don't need any of the other BS they throw in along with those other options.

Ill wait til someone actually gets a 6.2 to test out. Im interested to see how 8ualive's comparison goes.
