New LT engine problems

New LT engine problems
I really would like to move into the new body style with the 6.2 direct injected engine. I would like to know how everyone is fairing with their new directed injected engine. Im concerned with the directed injection and the buildup of carbon and such in the intake port and more so on the intake valve. I am in the engine business and see on all the direct injection engine for this to be a major problem. Audi has moved to putting secondary injectors in the intake manifold to help keep the back of the intake valve clean. I have also read where ford has done this on the 2nd version of the eco boost... The thing that concerns me is that gm has dropped the power train warranty on these to 60K i think from the original 100k they used to have. On top of that I have a family member that has a yukon denali and had a major engine failure at 20k (can't get all the info as to what exactly happened as talking to the dealer there is so much bs and grey area) but it sounds like it was an intake valve issue.... I do also know there is a bunch of corvette owners having problems as well.... How are you guys with these trucks doing with them? Can you comment with how many miles you have on your 6.2 or even 5.3 DI engine and what problems you have had with them or do have with them or if you have been trouble free....
Thanks in advance!

I'm only around 7000 miles so it doesn't matter but i work amongst a group of about 25 or more of these trucks that most are second term units now. The operators here mile them out in roughly a years time and they get traded in around 80000 miles. Not one here yet has needed anything and most field op's are running their second truck of this body style now as the first run of 2014s are mostly traded in and gone. These get no real great treatment either as they are shift trucks so if they live I don't know why Joe blows wouldn't.

I only have a few thousand miles on mine but hasn't had an issue yet. I did do quite a bit of research and two guys at work have 2014's one a 5.3 the other a 6.2, both have not had a problem, Im not sure of the mileage but these guys beat on their trucks pretty hard. One guy bought into the catch can hype but has since removed it. They both removed the AFM, mine seems fine so Im leaving it alone! This truck rides better than anything I've ever owned!

Chevrolet's official position is that valve coking isn't an issue and doesn't degrade performance over an extended period.

just turned 40k on mine... and like the rest of these guys I have yet to pull the heads off to confirm that I have "no issues"... HOWEVER, mine still runs like a beast and doesn't have any issues that I can identify...
I do have a catch can on mine which many seem to think helps with the issue at hand, that's above my pay grade though...
