6.0L +.030'' , Compstar rods, Mahle pistons, stock crank, same cam, same hand ported factory heads just replacing one, and some really nice machine work. Sonic tested the block and it's .280'' thick on the thrust side.

You take your break-in periods a little too seriously...I don't think that's what GM had in mind during initial break in. Better luck next time though.

I know the LQ4 has a little weaker rods than the LQ9 and, but in the later year engines don't they use the same rods now?

Haven't had my hands on a 05 up 6.0l yet, but the LQ9's, and LS2are alittle beefier. The stock LQ4 piston's are stronger than the rods. I have 4 bent rods with good pistons on them.

Performance coatings include a phosphate dry lubricant that is used to protect against ring micro-welding and pin galling during initial startup and break in. For added performance, MAHLE applies its proprietary Grafel anti-friction coating to each piston skirt.
I'm going to be running these pistons in my new motor as well
