Default 03/04 lq4 piston part number

if any one has the part number to a 03 or 04 lq4 piston please post it up. 01/02 pistons are different so i need just those years. 05 might work as well.

Never would have thought there would be a difference. What are the differences in them?

I think the newer ones have a teflon coating on the skirts whereas the older ones are naked. I think the piston is the same.

true the newer ones have a teflon skirt on them however the newer pistons are longer and also appear to be of a much better design. meaning they appear to be more rigid and stronger. i don't have my digi camera here to take pics and post but they are different.

no biggy. i didn't know either. it kinda caught me by surprise when i went to do a quick visual comparison. right now i can either A) swap all the pistons to the ones you had or B) buy another 03 piston.

i just can't find a damn part number to even try and order one. Scoggin dickey has the rings but it won't show me a damn piston.

i found this part number for the rings 88894244. so if anyone can double and triple check that number for me i would really appreciate it.

i forgot about gm parts direct. going to search there now. if that F'ing site would work right i might find what i'm looking for

If you can get a pic of the difference I would like to inspect my 6L and find out what I got.

it's unmistakeable. once you know that there is a difference you can spot it. the earlier pistons didn't have the coating which is a big tell tell sign. also the newer piston has what i would call a tic tac toe design on the sides under the piston top and a ridge at the bottom of where the pin goes through the piston

also the older piston is just smooth on the non skirt side.

i found a piston through a catalogue mail order place. 25 bucks so it isn't too expensive but i might end up waiting 2 weeks for it to come in. they won't know if the wharehouse has one in stock until monday...
