04 zo6 cam need pushrods?
Well I'm going the cheap route and going with the 02-04 ls6 cam but iv read that its designed with a smaller base circle so it will need longer pushrods? I just won't somebody to confirm what I need to do here. Thanx

No, that is not correct. I installed mine last week, and it runs great, on stock pushrods, but you will want the LS6 Yellow valve springs, those you do need, and can pick up really cheap, like 40-50 bucks...

Yes, the LS6 cam does indeed have a smaller base circle. Can some get away with stock pushrods? All other specs on the motor being stock... sure you can but the expense of correct lifter preload. Best bet is to get a pushrod length checker and check preload. There is a sticky at the top of this section that has several good threads...

i would run hardened pushrods on any cam other than stock. that stock ones have been known to bend, especially if you are spinning higher rpms, which most people tend to do after a cam swap

I'd get some good hardened pushrods for extra insurance...besides lessening the chance of a bent pushrod, you also lessen the chance of valve float. There is a good read on Crane/Vinci's website about valve float misconception, which stated that weak pushrods are a bigger contributor to valve float then "weak" valve springs, as the majority of the flex in the valvetrain takes place in the pushrod.
